The Donald Judd Archives
As part of Judd Foundation’s ongoing mission to preserve and promote the artistic legacy of Donald Judd, Judd Foundation is processing, preserving, and working to make accessible the Donald Judd Archives according to best practices. The Donald Judd Archives contain rich visual and textual documentation of Judd’s life and work, such as published and unpublished writings, correspondence, photographs, moving image material, gallery files, fabricator files, publications, exhibition ephemera, and family records.
The Donald Judd Archives are currently closed to research. Please check back for updates.
Judd Foundation would like to thank the Still Water Foundation for their generous support of the Donald Judd Archives. Funding for processing of the Archives is also made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. To donate to the Archives, a program of Judd Foundation, please select Judd Foundation programs from the drop down menu on the following page.

In conjunction with its processing initiative, Judd Foundation is pleased to announce that we will be sharing selected items from the collection through a new online program entitled “From the Vault.” The Donald Judd Archives are currently housed in what was once a bank in Marfa, Texas, that served West Texas area ranchers.
These selected items reflect the diversity and depth of the Donald Judd Archives, which in total comprise over 200 linear feet of material. While the Archives are currently closed to research for processing and preservation, Judd Foundation is pleased to offer a behind-the-scenes look at what will be available once our processing and preservation process is complete.
