Comprised of correspondence and ephemera from Donald Judd’s rich archive of studio records and unpublished writings, this exhibition sheds light on Judd as a responsible and engaged public citizen of Presidio County and New York City. It also acts a reminder of local social and historic events from the 1970s – 80s.
The exhibition will be open by appointment through December 2011. Call 432-729-4406 x 105 to make an appointment.

DONALD JUDD
David Zwirner Gallery
525 West 19th Street, New York
David Zwirner will present an exhibition of works by Donald Judd drawn
from the artist’s seminal 1989 exhibition held at the Staatliche
Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Germany. Brought together from international
public and private collections, this will be the first time these
particular works have been exhibited together in a group of this size
since Judd’s 1989 installation.
The exhibition, which will span both of the gallery’s spaces at 525 and
533 West 19th Street, will reflect the artist’s intended clarity and
rigor in its installation. These works comprise one of Judd’s few
explorations of color on a large scale using anodized aluminum and thus
provide a focused investigation of the key concerns within Judd’s
practice.
This will be the gallery’s inaugural exhibition of the artist’s work
since having announced its exclusive representation of Judd Foundation.
For further information, contact David Zwirner at 212.517.8677 or Judd Foundation at 212.219.2747

Judd at Spring Street: Inside and Out
A Panel Discussion
organized by Judd Foundation in conjunction with the Department of
Architecture and Design, The Museum of Modern Art
The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building The Museum of Modern Art
Panel Description:
Inside and Out is the first of a series of discussions to be held at
MoMA while restoration is underway of Judd's house and studio, 101
Spring Street, where he lived and worked from 1968 to 1994.
Interpretations of Judd's relationship to the cast iron 1870 structure,
itself a serially produced artifact, will be offered by Adam Yarinsky,
Principle of ARO (Architecture Research Office) and lead architect for
the restoration, and by Robert Bates of Walter B. Melvin Architects,
who has been working on the preservation of the facades. Yarinsky will
offer an analysis of the parallels with the work of Austrian architect
Adolf Loos in considering the spatial, material, and programmatic
qualities of Judd's architectural interventions at 101 Spring Street
and in his installed spaces at Marfa, Texas. Yarinsky and Bates will be
joined by art historian Rosalind Krauss and Flavin Judd, son of Donald
Judd, in a panel discussion moderated by Barry Bergdoll, The Philip
Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at MoMA.
RSVP is required. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
